Things on toast


Quick, easy and delicious – toast is always a winner – but gone are the days where I thought the pinnacle of toast toppings is peanut butter and jam (don’t get me wrong, that’s a classic combo but there’s SO MUCH MORE) .

Mixing up your loaf is a good idea, there’s some great GF options out there these days or if you have no gluten issues then I love a good Biona rye or a nice sourdough (and who can forget Real Patisserie chewy brown – a Brighton institution)

Some of my fave toppings at the mo:

🥑 Basic Bitch Avo and boiled egg (obvs)

🐟 Pesto, mashed sardines, tomatoes and basil

🥬 Mackerel, beetroot, sauerkraut and rocket

🍅 Tomato paste or homemade pesto, fresh tomatoes, feta, basil and spinach

🍌 Almond butter, banana, seeds and coconut yogurt

🧀 Goats cheese, sliced pear, walnuts and honey

Smashed Peas & Mint

ESSENTIAL: you got to season these bad boys with some decent sea salt & pepper – a good drizzle of olive oil is a must – not only does this help it taste better but the healthy fats help to absorb fat-soluble vitamins and pepper has been found to increase absorption of certain phytonutrients.
